Artificial intelligence may trigger widespread workforce disruptions within 10-20 years, according to DeepSeek researcher Chen Deli. The warning came during a panel discussion at the World Internet Conference, where China's leading AI firms gathered to discuss technological evolution and its societal implications.

While acknowledging AI's short-term benefits, Chen predicted a tipping point within 5-10 years where automation could displace both skilled and unskilled labor. "Tech companies must assume greater responsibility when machines potentially perform all human work," he stated, highlighting looming challenges around employment security and economic inequality.

The 'six little dragons' of Chinese AI - including DeepSeek, Unitree and BrainCo - collectively emphasized the need for ethical frameworks alongside technological advancement. This tension between innovation and social impact continues to dominate industry discourse as AI capabilities accelerate.
